QCommission Streamlines Top Management Recruiting Office

Magee Resource Group (MRG) is an award recruiting/placement firm ranking among the top offices in the Management Recruiting International (MRI) family. Located in Shreveport, Louisiana, MRG continues to set records each year in billings and "cash in" with professional recruiters working with client companies and candidates across the United States and Canada. Only 14 years old, MRG has grown to almost 30 account and project managers with a support staff of an additional six officers and administrative staff.

As part of a planned expansion, newly-hired controller, Shelby Smith, was tasked with examining each accounting, billing and commissioning process with an eye toward streamlining the entire flow of revenue from the receipt of payments (or "cash in") to the payroll/commission checks and P&L statement. MRG had recently converted to QuickBooks® Pro and although Shelby found it easy to clean up the accounting ledgers, the entire process of taking paid invoices and distributing revenue amounts to commission statements was a huge roadblock to significant progress. Each recruiter had a different plan, some with draws, and others with salaries. In addition, MRG also does a significant subcontracting business and each "deal" may involve three or four different recruiters being paid at different rates for each payment received from a particular client.

QCommission's ability to take one paid invoice record and process it to multiple payees incentive plans proved to be a huge timesaver and the key to a solution that had eluded MRG's owners up to that point. The interface with QuickBooks® also meant that invoice payments would be imported correctly each time and not subject to human error.

The Problem

Klein Hersh’s sales commission plan is very complex. It requires different sales commission calculations for different people, depending on their roles. It is a tedious and time consuming process when done manually – the process of calculating for sales commissions was a 12-hour (at least) ordeal every pay period for them.

They were tired of the rigorous task of manually calculating their complex sales commissions, so when one of Klein Hersh’s  partners met QCommission at a conference, they decided to give sales commission automation a try.

The Project

The QCommission team worked with them to make sure everything was set up properly for them before the QCommission application was finally deployed. Klein Hersh’s requirements were reviewed in detail and meetings were conducted to make sure all aspects of their sales commission plan were covered.

Acuity is a trusted medical staffing firm, known for their ability to fill even the most difficult of positions. Their team of medical staffing experts have an average of 5+ years of experience in the industry and continue to undergo rigorous training to ensure they stay on top of the industry’s requirements and trends.

The Problem

Acuity paid their recruiters sales commissions on a bi-weekly basis. Because of their old manual sales commission process, they found it time consuming and difficult to keep track of their tiered commissions. Ensuring the accuracy of splits was also a challenge. As a result, they sporadically missed commissions and weren’t paying their recruiters the amount that was due to them.

This long-standing issue with sales commission processing was affecting their recruiters negatively, and finally they decided that it was time to do something about it.

 

The Project

Acuity’s McKenzie Stump went online and searched for a sales commission software that would end their sales commission problems. They found QCommission and submitted a Demo Request so that they could determine if it was indeed what they were looking for.

After the demo, they decided that QCommission was the answer to their sales commission woes, and so the project began.

The QCommission team got to work and made sure to build into QCommission all the bells and whistles that were needed to host Acuity’s unique sales commission structure. Some of Acuity’s sales compensation specifications were as follows:

-          Process commissions on gross profit

-          Payees were assigned at line level in invoices

-          Commissions are tier-based

-          Commissions are supposed to be split between recruiters

-          Commissions must be processed based on guarantee date
