3 Things You Should Already Be Doing with Your Business During the New Normal

Covid-19 is going to be here for a while. Experts are saying it will be here to stay for a year or so, and if businesses want to stay afloat, then making changes and adapting to our new way of life are key.

If you still are not doing the things below, it is not too late to get started. So, what should you already be doing with your business right now?

1. Check in with your existing customers. When was the last time you spoke with them? If they are still sticking with your business even during these tough times, don’t you think it is only reasonable for you to at the very least check in on how they are doing? Now, more than ever, is a good time to work on building your relationship with your customers. Great customer relationships can lead to referrals, and that would mean more business for you.

2. If you are still not on Zoom or other video messaging applications, get on it. They’re very useful especially when connecting with your existing clients, as well as prospects and employees. You can use it in conjunction with #1. It lends a more personal touch because they can see your facial expressions, and it would be easier for them to see how genuine you are in your concern for them. Too many customers? Try a personalized email for them instead.

You can also use these video messaging applications to get on a regular call with your employees. If you cannot do it yourself, at least have your leaders check in with their teams via a video call or team meeting. It can be a brief hi, hello, just something to let your employees know that you are concerned about how they are doing right now. Working remotely can also be tough on some employees, especially if they are used to socializing with their colleagues during breaks.

3. Do not vanish into the night. Do not stop marketing. A lot of people are working from home, and social media is one of the most frequently used tools to stay in touch. It is also widely used to get updates on happenings, news, etc. Thus, it is all the more important for your business to be active on social media because you need to be seen. You need to let your potential customers know that you are a stable business, and that you can power through anything, including a pandemic.

Those are the 3 simplest things that you should already be doing by now. If not, it is not too late to start. The most important thing is for you to actually begin. Things will not fully go back to how it was before – well, at least not for a while. Your business will suffer even bigger losses if you do not do something to adapt to the changing times.
