Direct Staff has a complex commission plan for their sales rep and recruiters. Commissions are to be calculated monthly from QuickBooks paid invoices for both contract and permanent placements. All of these calculations were done manually using Excel. A lot of time was spent entering the pay and bill rates in Excel from QuickBooks as well as calculating differently for these placements. Sometimes these calculations would result in errors resulting in miscalculated commissions.
