MetaMation has a complex sales commission plan which pays commissions based on collections of sales in US and Mexico. MetaMation had a custom built solution which was not keeping up with their changing needs. It lacked flexibility. Anupam Chakraborty, Vice President, was looking for the right solution at the right price when he learned about QCommission. Anupam was spending hours doing the commission calculations.

Commissions are paid based on the channel through which it was sold. More than one rep could get commissions for a single deal. In addition, there is a group that gets commissions based on the team's performance. The commissions are paid even though the invoice has not been fully paid.

To solve the problem, the QCommission implementation team setup buckets for each of the invoices. This bucket was used to cumulate the commissionable portion of the invoice and also to cumulate the payments received from month to month against that invoice. The system would always go back to an invoice in total and calculate the commission to be paid and then apply a self correcting formula to come up with the amount to be paid in the current month.

As part of the engagement, the implementation team imported the source data and once the commission statements were produced, Anupam was able to reconcile the QCommission output very easily. The team has worked very closely with Anupam to complete the implementation and training in time.

After running QCommission for two months in parallel, MetaMation went live with QCommission. Now the effort to calculate commissions end to end has come down substantially. No more running of multiple QuickBooks reports and comparing record by record or updating invoice by invoice to calculate commissions. "Since QCommission handles the partially paid invoices so well, our commission calculation process is accurate and timely", says Anupam.
