Frontier Performance Lubricants is a manufacturer of high quality industrial lubricants. They provide quality products to heavy equipment operators throughout the world from their headquarters in Lodi, California. They specialize in energy efficient, wear-reducing lubricants specially formulated for agriculture, mining and general industry.
Frontier was in the final stages of choosing the Sage MAS500 for their accounting systems. They were interested in finding a solution that worked with MAS500 to calculate their commissions. They had previously attempted to use other systems, but were not successful so they looked for a solution that would not only meet their needs but also had a successful track record at being implemented. Integration with MAS500 was a critical requirement for success. Frontier was very comfortable with QCommission as their choice when they completed their evaluation, since they felt the QCommission team was the one that understood their problems the best.
The commission plans were fairly complex. The commission calculation is based on one of five different commission structures for each sales rep. The commission rate is varies based on the discounting and, among other factors, whether the product was sold for the first time or not, or whether the customer was direct or inherited from another sales rep. The sales manager also received an override based on the sales of the reps who reported to him/her.
The QCommission team worked with the Frontier and the accounting systems implementation partner, Clients First Business Systems, to configure and test the commissions plans for Frontier. QCommission was set up to integrate with MAS500 to get customer, product and invoices for calculating the commissions. Commission plans were configured to handle all the unique needs of Frontier. With the complete implementation the entire commission processing takes less than an hour.
According to Andrew Miller, President, "The QCommission people understood the complexities of our commission plans in just a couple of hours where it took the previous vendor months."
The QCommission implementation team worked with Todd Palin from Client First Business Solutions, to manage the integration and the project manager responsible for the implementation of MAS500.
Testing of the configured plans highlighted some exceptions which were quickly resolved. Training was accomplished over a couple of sessions and after two periods of running in parallel with their current process, Frontier went live successfully with QCommission.
Commissions are now calculated quickly and accurately. The commission calculation process is a very streamlined and everyone is happy with the timely calculation and accurate output.
