Center Stage Entertainment is a premier full-service entertainment agency that provides bands and DJs for weddings and corporate events. Their executive headquarters is in Lindenwold, NJ and a second location near Atlantic City allows them to offer two convenient locations, serving both private clients and corporations up and down the east coast.

Center Stage was using Microsoft Small Business manager software for their accounting and decided to switch to QuickBooks for their commissions calculation. They had complicated commission plans with gross profit based commissions. Their cost estimates were varied, sometimes the invoices were prepaid and they also had to split the commissions with more than 1 sales person. They were not able to effectively handle all these calculations with their manual method of using Excel.

Center Stage wanted to calculate and pay commissions every week from QuickBooks estimates when the corresponding Invoice gets paid. Commissions have to be calculated from Gross profit on estimates with a flat commission rate. Occasionally there are splits between 2 agents or manager and it needs to be accommodated in the system.
