Horizon Window Fashions is a one-stop source for custom window coverings, offering a wide variety of products to fill home design needs. The company is headquartered in Reno, Nevada.

Horizon had complex commission plans for calculating commissions on gross margin percent from QuickBooks paid invoices. Commissions were calculated on a monthly basis for all of their sales reps.

All of these calculations were done manually, using Excel from QuickBooks paid invoices and bills to get the gross margin percent and then commissions were calculated based on gross profit.  All of these calculations took a lot of time, first because of the manual entry into Excel and even longer because of typical errors in Excel calculations.

Pam MacRae, the owner of the company, researched the market place for a good solution to automate their sales commission process.
